The Working Title of our film is called The Next One It is called The Next One because it involves a person seeing whether or not the main character (Hollie) would be murdered.
Type of Thriller
The opening of our Thriller would be a mixed cross between a Noir Thriller and a Crime Thriller because the film would be in Black and White. Also, the thriller involves murder, the enigma of who did it.
When Set
The film would be set in the Modern times (2010 and beyond) The locations have streetlamps, which the country didn't have much in the 1930's plus we also use modern day technologies such as a BlackBerry Smartphone.
Primary Locations
My Thriller Opening would be filmed in St. Bishop's Bridge located in Riverside Road and Elm Hill. The pictures are in my previous posts.
Narrative Structure
A girl is walking her way to the center of the city, she texts her boyfriend, saying that she is on her way to meet up with him. He then takes a shortcut through an alleyway so she could get to her boyfriend on time. She then tries to ring him up and then co-incidentally she hears a ringing that might've been familiar to her and then as she walks through, she finds her boyfriend unconscious on the wet shiny streets. She then goes to him slowly, while at the same time being emotionally traumatised seeing if he is still breathing or is he dead. She then sees a mysterious figure looking at her, but the girl is so weak, emotionally scared and traumatised at the same time she didn't know what to do. The film then ends with the mysterious figure walking to her and the screen goes black with her breathing.

Costume
Harry would be wearing a black Coat, Trousers, Shoes and a Black Hat. His inspiration came from when we watched The Third Man in class, this is when Harry Lime first appeared and it shows that there is this enigma (who is he, what is he doing in this scene). Mary would be wearing would be wearing a coat along with some accessories such as a Watch and a Mobile phone. Matthew would be wearing nearly the same type of clothing as Harry.
Soundtrack Ideas
I have been searching for a suitable soundtrack to go with my Thriller Opening. The opening would have a mixture of Diagetic and Non-Diagetic sounds which would be the soundtrack and breathing sounds made by the character.
Cliffhanger at the end of the sequence
The cliffhanger at the end would involve all of the three characters. Harry would be on the floor unconscious and Mary is emotionally traumatised and scared. Harry would then make his move, he could hurt Mary or even kill her.
Representation of the place
The bridge at the beginning of the opening represents the entrance of hell. An example of this would be from Essex Boys when Billy was going through the tunnel and it shows that he is going somewhere bad and it illustrates that he might not come back if he doesn't act as soon as possible.

How the sequence establishes the Thriller Genre
Our opening establishes the Thriller Genre because it has the following Thriller conventions. These include:
- Innocent Victims
- Characters with Dark Pasts - Harry
Well thought out and some good references to thrillers that have inspired your ideas. Of course there could be a twist, that somehow Mary and the stranger are involved in the attack on Harry!!! A thought, you could film two cliff hangers with the twist involving Mary going up to the stranger and he puts his arms around her!!! This suggests a very dark thriller indeed and avoids the weak, scared, overwhelmed female victim/stereotype
